Professional Arbor Care
Serving Livingston, MT & Park County
25 Years with reliable Tree Service
Ron Nelson provided expert arbor care in the Livingston-Park County area for over 25 years, but his full career spanned over 40 years in the industry. At just 19 years old, he received his training at Bartlett Tree Service in Maine founded in 1907.
His great respect for the land and natural resources were the driving force for him to attain his Masters Degree in Horticulture from the University of Minnesota. During his years of extensive nurseryman work, Ron planted and pruned over 200,000 trees at a commercial tree nursery in Minnesota and even thousands more at residential, business, and public properties here in Montana.
Ron also served his community as a member of the Montana Urban Forestry Council, as the chairman of the Livingston Tree Board, and in assisting Livingston in applying for the Tree City USA designation. Throughout his life, Ron was admired for his arbor skills, his integrity, and loving care for the trees. They were his “children”.
Although Ron passed away in January 2017, his tradition for service continues on at Nelson Tree Care. His foreman and arbor care crew strive to maintain the standards Ron established. After being the silent partner in the business since 1992, Ron‘s wife, Lou Ann, now runs the business with a watchful eye on customer service, safety, and ISA work standards. Though gone, Ron will not be forgotten by family, friends, and all those he served.
